What is the Shomoos System?

Shomoos is the Saudi Ministry of Interior's system for monitoring guest occupancy across all accommodation establishments in the Kingdom. A Royal Decree requires every hotel establishment to share every adult guest's identity data with the National Information Center in real time upon check-in.

Mandatory by Royal Decree
Not optional. All Saudi hotel establishments must report to Shomoos regardless of their size.
Every Adult Guest Reported
Not just the primary guest. Every adult individual in the room must be reported separately.
Real-Time at Check-In
Data must be shared at the moment of check-in — no delay is acceptable under the regulation.
Part of National Security System
Shomoos operates under the Passports Directorate and National Security Forces — violation is a security offense.

Six Identity Types — Each Validated

Shomoos accepts exactly six identity document types, each with specific format rules. Sutahi automatically validates every ID format before reporting.

Arabic Name — Shomoos Requirement for Saudis & Residents
Shomoos rejects reports for National ID, Iqama, and GCC ID holders if the Arabic name is missing. Sutahi surfaces this requirement when entering guest data and prevents submission if the Arabic name is absent.

Five Automatic Steps — Zero Manual Input

1
Guest is registered in Sutahi
When a guest profile or booking is created, Sutahi collects and validates identity data instantly — type, number, nationality, and guest name.
2
Identity Format Validated
Sutahi validates the ID number format by type (starting digit, length, allowed characters) before sending to Shomoos.
3
Arabic Name for Required ID Types
For National ID, Iqama, and GCC ID, Sutahi requires the Arabic name — Shomoos rejects reports without it.
4
Shomoos Reported at Check-In
At check-in, Shomoos is notified of every adult guest's identity automatically — multi-guest bookings fully supported.
5
Auditable Log, Exportable
Every Shomoos report is logged with date and response status. Logs are exportable for audit purposes.

Shomoos Non-Compliance — Legal Consequences

Sutahi makes compliance automatic and auditable. The alternative is exposure to the following legal risks.

Regulatory Violation
Failure to report guests violates a Royal Decree, exposing the hotel owner to legal liability.
Security Risk
Shomoos is part of the national security system. Hotels that don't report risk losing their operating license.
Manual Reporting is Error-Prone
Manual reporting takes hours and causes data errors. Sutahi sends data automatically in seconds.
Sutahi reports to Shomoos automatically at every check-in — auditable, exportable logs. Full compliance with zero manual work.
